I Make A Fine Feast For Phantoms

The goal of this project was to create an approximately 30 second long mixed media animation with the intention of being displayed on short form media platforms such as Instagram Reels, Tiktok, and Youtube Shorts. When deciding on a visual theme for this project, I researched several various animation mediums that I was curious to explore further. In my research I came across mixed media animation, an animation style that combines analog animation practices with modern technologies to create a stop motion like effect.

Through this project I wanted to communicate the feeling of being ignored or abandoned on what is seemingly a whim, being left to question if one had done something to insight this. Through the combination of the created visuals alongside Paris Paloma’s song, “My Mind” (2024), I had sought to craft a story of a person experiencing a type of abandonment often seen in this technological age, being all consumed with the obsessive thought of “What did I do wrong?”.
